Once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!
The Campaign of a Lifetime: Joey and the $2 Million Night
If you were in the room for the Blood Cancer United finale, you didn’t just hear about a fundraiser; you witnessed a movement. This wasn’t your average charity drive; it was a high-octane, once-in-a-lifetime sprint that proved what happens when our village goes "all in."

Across 39 powerhouse teams (all led by incredible teenagers!), the collective effort brought in nearly $2 million over a short 7-week campaign. Read that again. Two. Million. Dollars. That is life-changing funding for research and patient support, and the energy in that room of nearly 1,000 people was absolutely electric.
The Man of the Hour: Joey Beahrs
While the total number was massive, one name kept cutting through the noise. If you closed your eyes, you’d think Joey was the guest of honor, a celebrity, or a local hero. Thanks to the Butler Phi Delta Theta boys, "Joey Beahrs" became the most announced name of the night!

It got to the point where the MC, Bachelorette Season 22 contestant, Matt Carroll, finally asked, "Where is Joey Beahrs?" just to introduce him to the crowd. As Joey made his way up, Matt even whispered under his breath, "and what a cool name." This was a year for breaking milestones. What would have been a first- or second-place win in years past only landed in the top 5 this year—simply because every single team crushed their goals. It was truly amazing to see the bar raised so high! The Phi Delt boys' energy was infectious, ensuring that every time Joey’s name hit the mic, the room knew exactly who they were cheering for. But it wasn't just about the noise; it was about celebrating a guy who truly walks the walk.

The Triple Threat: Goals, Teams, and Mission Joey didn’t just participate; he dominated his checklist. It’s rare to see someone sweep their goals like this, but Joey managed to:
- Crush his personal goal: He set the bar high, then cleared it with room to spare.
- Lead his team to victory: He ensured the team's goal wasn't just met, but exceeded.
- Secure his Mission Award Pillar (Patient Support): This is the big one. It’s not just about the dollars; it’s about heart, outreach, and truly embodying the "why" behind Blood Cancer United.
More Than Just a Total!
Beyond the awards and the massive checks, this campaign was an amazing lesson in professional growth. Joey walked away with a toolkit of skills you just can't learn in a classroom. From negotiations and event coordination to pleading his cause and learning the kind of leadership that keeps a team motivated when the pressure is on, he grew in ways we are so proud of.
We are so blessed to have this community behind us. Thank you for being part of Joey's journey and for helping these kids prove that "doing smALL things with great love" can change the world!
